People aspiring to become aestheticians and skin specialists in particular may go for advanced aesthetics courses, those desirous of becoming all-rounder cosmetologists may additionally opt for hair dressing and/or make up courses in along with aesthetic courses.

The course is suitable for and applicable for those who have done a basic foundation course in aesthetics and are now desirous of progressing to the advanced level. Not only would you learn about advanced beauty therapy practices including skin treatment procedures, aesthetic electrology, advanced manicures, pedicures, special & advanced facials, you will be introduced to the domain of cosmetic electrology, aroma therapy and basic peeling procedures.

Institute may under the RPL (recognition of prior learning) provision accord admission to this course to candidates with adequate job experience even though they may not be holding a prior formal certification in beauty.

This Diploma Level course in beauty therapy incorporates two modules that of Certificate in Basic Aesthetics and Advanced Certificate in Salon Aesthetics. One has the option to do basic and advanced beauty therapy/aesthetic courses as independent stand-alone courses, or alternatively if one wishes to avail combined credits from the two courses, it leads to Diploma level award of learning.

Students who had enrolled into entry level Certificate in Basic Aesthetic may ideally choose to upgrade to Diploma in Professional Aesthetic before they have concluded with the basic course. Alternatively, as mentioned above, they may seek benefit of the credit score of the basic course and may seek enrolment in the Diploma Course even after a time has lapsed between the two courses. Many a times this course is addressed as Level 3 or Level 4 course, implying a still higher level of skill and knowledge acquisition that one gains through this course viz a viz the Diploma Course. This course straddles the borders between cosmetology and dermatology, with techniques like peels, latex procedures, advanced electrology procedures, advanced treatment procedures such as dermabrasion, other high end treatments, high end and premium facials, use of special cosmetic preparations such as treatment oriented serums, included in the course.

Since this is the combination of entry level, advanced level and higher superior level courses in beauty therapy/aesthetics, this course takes the student from the very basic skills of beauty therapy, such as threading, facials, manicures, pedicures, waxing etc, through the mid-level skills such as basic electrology, skin treatments and facials, to the high end procedures and treatments with sophisticated cosmetic products with almost pharmacological effects. One is also equipped with enough diagnostic acumen to be able to make out the skin problems, and to be able to suggest proper treatments and procedures with suitable products.

The knowledge gained through this course builds confidence to interact with all kinds of clients on one hand and to be able to guide and supervise the other staff in the salon, basically managing the salon.

A basic higher educational qualification will stand the student in good stead if one is desirous of going in for Master Diploma in Aesthetics.
